By Cynthia Richards and Jerry Jaccard
Continued implementation of the philosophy of Zoltán Kodály in an approach to beginning violin study based on American folk songs. Continues from Books One through Three.
The books are parallel and can be used in beginning ensembles. Some modifications are included in the cello book to accommodate technical aspects of that instrument.
Revised Book Four includes songs, dances and literature in major and relative minor keys to two sharps and two flats. It follows a Kodaly sound-to-sight approach. Major keys are do-centered and minor keys are la-centered. All three forms of the minor scale are introduced.
